The pedestrian Mercedes G63 AMG 4×4 wouldn’t really invite as much as attention as the 6×6 manages to. Except for an addition of extra set of axle and wheels gaining momentum from the same 5.5 litre bi-turbo V8 producing 550 bhp and 760nm, the Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6 might seem an outrageous offering from the Stuttgart based manufacturer claimed to be the most spectacular cross country vehicle of all time.
Understandably so like any other extreme contraption, the G63 6×6 has garnered enough interest. And finally Mercedes Benz has announced the cost involved to claim ownership of the badass looking G-Class at an eye-watering € 379,000. In our part of the world, it’s close to INR 4 crore mark and the value added tax not yet added to the figure.
The sad part is that even with an overflowing bank account, one might not be able to buy the G63 AMG 6×6 as Mercedes states that they would be selling the vehicle in a very low volume. The second depressing part for buyers from North America and right hand drive markets such as UK, Japan and Australia- who have been eyeing the lavish 6 wheeler, won’t be able to buy one through an official dealership as Mercedes won’t be selling the G63 6×6 in these countries. No guessing that most of these 6 wheeled post-apocalyptic monsters would end up driving through streets of oil rich Gulf countries or kicking up sand storms in the dunes.
The Mercedes G63 AMG 6×6 goes into production later this year and please don’t ask us “kitna deti hai”. It’s safe to expect the numbers to as outrageous as the concept and the price 😉
