Mercedes Benz to launch 13 All-New Models

CLS 63 AMG

Just a couple of days back we had reported BMW planning to launch an all new lineup of 22 cars with no resemblance to the existing models.

This time it’s arch rival Mercedes-Benz revealing plans to launch at least 13 all new models – echoing similar strategy that of BMW to have no predecessors. The course of the new launches would continue till the year 2020.

Speaking at a Daimler Group Press Conference and referring to the new S Class due in mid 2013, CEO Dieter Zetsche said “Our most important new model will make its world debut in the middle of this year. The S-Class is not just any car: it is the epitome of the luxury sedan; a symbol of German engineering skill recognized the world over; a metaphor for best-in-class.

Also Dieter added “At our plant in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, we are currently preparing for the production of another new SUV: an especially dynamic all-terrain vehicle. You will hear more about that soon.”

Off-late Mercedez Benz has been losing ground to its rivals BMW and Audi on global sales who have been infusing fresh designs into their lineup. With the new spate of recent launches and the plans for a new range of vehicles, the German luxury car giant looks forward to snatch lost glory from its German counterparts.
