According to the automaker, India has received extra units of the G63 and GLS Maybach, and waiting times have been significantly decreased. Bookings will first be available to existing Mercedes-Benz owners before being made available to new consumers.

Waiting times for Mercedes-AMG G63 and Maybach GLS 600 have been lowered
Due to their great demand globally, high-end Mercedes vehicles and SUVs had up to two-year waiting lists early last year. The longest wait was for the G-Class SUV, which Mercedes stated was sold out for two years. Mercedes claims that with the enhanced allotment, the waiting period for the AMG G-Class is now a year and a half, compared to two to three years previously.
According to Mercedes-Benz, the waiting period for the GLS Maybach 600 has also been greatly decreased, and it now stands at eight months for single-tone paint shades and up to ten months for dual-tone paint shades.
The AMG G63 and GLS Maybach 600 are part of Mercedes-Top-End Benz’s Vehicle (TEV) sector, which was the fastest-growing segment in the carmaker’s portfolio in 2022, with a 69 percent annual growth rate. The G63 now costs Rs 2.7 crore, up from Rs 2.45 crore previously, while the GLS Maybach starts at Rs 2.92 lakh (ex-showroom).

Mercedes-Benz recently revealed that ten new models will be introduced in India in 2023. The TEV class, which began with the Mercedes-AMG E 53 Cabriolet, will be a primary focus this year, accounting for more than half of all new Mercedes-Benz debuts. These are most likely an upgraded G-Class, the upcoming Mercedes-AMG SL, and the EQS SUV. The new G-Class has yet to be announced, although the SL and EQS SUVs were both worldwide unveiled in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
Mercedes-Benz will drop the EQ label for electric vehicles beginning in 2024
According to a rumour, Mercedes-Benz will discontinue the use of the ‘EQ’ name for its next-generation electric vehicles, which will be available in late 2024. According to business sources, the label will become obsolete as Mercedes’ lineup becomes increasingly dominated by electric cars, according to the German trade journal Handelsblatt. The company had stated that by 2025, it would have an electric equivalent for each of its vehicles.
Mercedes-Benz currently sells seven pure-EV cars worldwide: the EQE, EQE SUV, EQS, EQS SUV, EQC, EQA, and EQB. Mercedes-Benz sells the EQB SUV, the EQC, and the EQS sedan in India. Over the following two years, the company will expand its international lineup with an electric version of the robust G-Class 4×4 and a long-range small sedan based on the EQXX concept, bringing its EV range to nearly the same scale as its long-established combustion car lineup.
