Mercedes-Benz GLA 220d 4MATIC Activity Edition launched in India; priced at INR 38.51 lakh (Ex-Pune)

Mercedes-Benz India launched the GLA 220 d 4MATIC ‘Activity Edition’, thus introducing the 4MATIC four-wheel drivetrain in the GLA for the first time in the Indian market. The launch of the model is the company’s 6^th SUV launch and the 9^th product for 2016 in India. The luxury SUV model was launched by Roland Folger, Managing Director & CEO Mercedes-Benz India.

On the outside, the GLA 220d 4Matic Activity Edition receives Activity Edition bade, black decals on the door, longitudinal chrome elements in the rocker panel, new 18 inch alloy wheel design and a new colour option known as Mountain Grey in Mercedes speak.

Moving on to the interiors, the model comes equipped with an 8 inch media display, smartphone integration package, keyless Go Starting function, Activity Edition floor mats, Spectacles compartment in the overhead panel, stowage compartments under the front seats, luggage nets on the rear of the front seats, Ease Pack tailgate, a 12 V socket in the luggage compartment, rear seat backrests adjustment (cargo position) by additional 15 degrees.

Safety features on the GLA 220d 4Matic Activity Edition include adaptive brake with hold function, hill start assist, DSR, ESP, ASR, ABS and BAS as standard. Also on offer are ESP curve dynamic assist, attention assist, reversing camera with dynamic guidelines, tyre pressure monitoring system, dual front airbags, front side airbags and curtain airbags (6 overall).

Powering the GLA 220d 4Matic is a 4 cylinder 2143cc diesel engine that is capable to produce a power output of 167 hp at 3400-4000 rpm while the peak torque of 350 Nm of torque 1400-3400 rpm. This motor sends power to all 4 wheels via seven speed DCT transmission.
