It has emerged that a Daimler representative recently told Automobilwoche that the upcoming Mercedes B Class Electric Drive will be better than the new i3 from arch rival BMW.
The Mercedes B Class Electric Drive gets a lithium-ion battery pack that is mounted beneath the floor and ahead of the rear axle. Mercedes says that the 28-kWh pack endows the car with a range of 115 miles and the motor has at least 134 horsepower and 228 lb-ft of torque.
The lithium-ion battery pack can be charged for a 60 miles range in less than two hours using a 240-volt power connection. The car will sport features like radar-based Collision Prevention assist feature, a 5.8-inch dashboard screen and navigation, a blind-spot monitoring system, lane-keeping assist and active park assist.
The interiors of the new 2014 Mercedes B Class Electric drive get chrome-ringed air vents and rich materials all over. The B-class can seat five in good comfort and offers considerable amount of space.
The 2014 Mercedes B-class Electric Drive will hit the Mercedes US dealerships early next year and pricing and final specifications and features will be announced at the launch.
