Stuttgart’s own 911-slayer, the new Mercedes-AMG GT will receive more styling packages, following the recently unveiled Night package- the Silver Chrome and Carbon exterior styling packages are now available, along with the Black Diamond interior styling package.
The exterior packages consist of a restyled front splitter, a redesigned rear diffuser, new wing mirrors and fender fins. The Silver Chrome package has all the aforementioned bits finished in chrome while the Carbon package has them done up in carbon-fibre.
The German manufacturer also unveiled its new interior package for the Mercedes-AMG GT. To be addressed as the AMG Black Diamond package, the kit aims to polish up the visuals inside.
Basically, the kit offers a classy dark interior surface for the vehicle through a color that the manufacturer dubs as “black diamond”. The surface of the car’s seats, dashboard, control panel, side panels, arm rests, ceiling, and floor mats all possess the said color. However, the action points or key areas such as the knobs, push buttons, air conditioning ventilation system, steering wheel console, paddles, and levers are highlighted by chrome.
Costing 40% less than the SLS AMG it replaces, the AMG GT is powered by the AMG division’s new 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 lump which is related to the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder unit from the A45, GLA45 and the CLA45. It’ll sell in two flavours- the “entry-level” AMG GT with 456hp on tap and a 0-100km/h (62mph) time of 4.0 seconds and the faster AMG GT S, with 510hp and a 0-100km/h time of 3.8 seconds.
Transmission duties are taken care of by a seven-speed dual clutch box, while the AMG GT is rear-wheel drive only.
