Gujarat-based EV startup and tech innovation group, MATTER, has revealed its future business strategies after receiving an exceptional response to its debut electric bike. The company is poised to initiate an ambitious growth plan aimed at accelerating the transformation of mobility. The MATTER AERA electric bike is ready to hit the streets from its manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad.
MATTER AERA: India’s First Geared EV Bike
MATTER AERA sports a futuristic design with innovative technology, setting out to revolutionize the landscape of two-wheeler mobility. As India’s first geared EV bike with 4 Speed Hyper-shift gears, it offers both high-performance capabilities (reaching 0 to 60 kmph in under 6 seconds) and cost-efficiency (at just 25 paise per km). This e-bike boasts a 5kWh liquid-cooled battery and 10.5kWh motor that enhances thermal management, consequently improving the battery and powertrain’s performance and lifespan.
MATTER AERA: Features
With a range of 125 km on a single charge and a 5-amp onboard charging system, it can be charged anywhere in India using a standard 5-amp plug. Additionally, MATTER AERA offers Internet-enabled 4G connectivity, including onboard navigation, music, and call features on a 7-inch LCD touchscreen display, providing riders with a unique riding experience.
The Matter Aera also comes with a host of smart features like keyless operation, LED lighting, a bifunctional LED projector headlight, dual-channel ABS, and a smartphone app that allows riders to track their ride statistics, charge level, and location.
MATTER AERA: Expansion Plans
The MATTER Group is set to start delivering the AERA in the upcoming quarter, with its first manufacturing facility having an annual production capacity of 60,000 units. To meet the surging demand, the company is already in the process of doubling this capacity to 120,000 units within the same year. This is only the beginning of MATTER’s vision to propel EV market growth through disruptive technology and products. To rapidly scale up its manufacturing capacity, MATTER has mapped out plans for the construction of a second mega-manufacturing facility by 2025, with an astonishing annual production capacity of one million units.
Upcoming Product Lineup
MATTER’s strategy includes the launch of a series of products catering to various segments of the market. Following the release of the AERA 5000 and 5000+, MATTER intends to introduce two more variants within the next year. The company also plans to extend its technological prowess to executive bikes through its M2 platform, which is currently in advanced stages of development, promising to offer multiple products catering to a wide array of the larger motorbike market.
