Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara Silhouette Teased

Maruti Suzuki has finally shared a teaser of its much-awaited mid-size SUV, the Grand Vitara. The video teaser showed the silhouette of this new car. As mentioned in the teaser, the Grand Vitara is a new breed of SUVs that boasts of a bold SUV design with a strong stance and a muscular shoulder line. Pre-bookings for the Grand Vitara are already open and it will be revealed on the 20th of July.

Based on Suzuki’s Global C platform which underpins the Suzuki S Cross, Brezza, and Hyryder The Vitara will share a similar wheelbase with Hyryder and we expect it to have similar dimensions as well. Suzuki cars abroad design of Vitara will provide it a global identity. It is expected to have LED headlights with LED DRLs, LED taillamps, and a healthy dose of cladding all around. Other expected design details include front and rear silver skid plates.

The interior is expected to share a lot of parts with the newer Maruti cars. Extensive use of leather for the upholstery and inserts all around the cabin is expected. While other tech features will include a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system that gets Android Auto and Apple Carplay, Arkymys sound tuning and 55+ Suzuki Connect connected car features including remote vehicle ignition. The Vitara will also offer ventilated leather seats, a 7-inch MID,  push-button start/stop, automatic climate control, a heads-up display, a 360-degree parking camera, a panoramic sunroof, and an auto-dimming IRVM. 

The Grand Vitara will share the same engine as Toyota Hyryder. The first engine is a 1.5-liter mild-hybrid unit that produces 101 hp and 136 Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters. The other engine is a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated Atkinson Cycle engine delivering 92 Hp and 122 Nm of torque. This engine is paired with an electric motor that produces 79 hp and 141 Nm of torque resulting in a total power output of 115 hp. It comes mated to an e-drive transmission. This system is paired with a 177.6 V lithium-ion battery which will enable the Grand Vitara to run on an electric-only range of up to 25km.
