Post the recently announced excise duty on cars in the budget by the Finance Ministry, the Maruti Suzuki Celerio now starts at INR 3.76 lakh Ex-Delhi.
Powering the new Maruti Suzuki Celerio is a re-tuned version of the same 1.0 litre, three pot, K10 petrol engine that powers the erstwhile Estilo and AStar. This engine is also found under the hood of the WagonR and the Alto K10 and for the Celerio, it has been given a re-map for better performance and efficiency. The Celerio can be brought with either a five speed manual or an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT).
According to some reports, the Celerio AMT variant is clocking more bookings than the manual transmission variant. This may be due to the claimed fuel efficiency of 23.1 kmpl for both the manual and AMT variants. Also, the AMT and manual transmission variants do not have much price difference, since the AMT uses the same gearbox parts used for the manual transmission.
