The BMW X5 is arguably one of the best all-rounder, as far as a car, is concerned. But being a carmaker that constantly tries to do better with its cars’ dynamic capabilities, the standard variant of any of their already brilliant cars, isn’t enough for the Bavarian manufacturer. Cars by BMW’s M, or Motorsport division are meant to do just one thing right. That one thing, is to go really fast and attack the bends with absolute conviction, going really fast. The “M”, might as well stand for Mental performance, if you see it that way.

Talking of mental, the X5 M, is one such creation. It’s crazy fast, sounds fantastic and is very expensive. But, for those who crave even more oomph and exclusivity, the X5 M just might not cut the mustard for you. This is where Manhart Performance, steps in. It’s a German tuning company which intends to make crazy fast cars, even faster. And one of their latest creations, is the Manhart MHX5. The M variant of the X5 already makes over 550 horsepower and can hit 100 km/h in just over 4 seconds! The top speed is a very un-SUV like 260 km/h and the 2-plus tonne SUV can stop really quickly, for a car of this size.

Manhart takes over the M version of the X5 and fiddles around with it’s engine, which now makes an unbelievable 750 horsepower and 1000 Nm of torque! This means that this 5-seater leviathan of an SUV, can rocket from 0-100 km/h in under 4 seconds and could scare the living daylights out of you, if you aren’t prepared for it. Manhart not only improves upon this car’s performance, but also tweaks its styling. The first thing you’d possibly notice, are the massive 23-inch all-black alloy wheels and yes, they look great. The exhaust system has been modified, as well. Apart from that, the MHX5 comes with a blacked-out grille, a front spoiler, a rear diffuser and outside mirror caps that are made out of carbon-fibre. Obviously, there are several ‘Manhart’ badges all over the place. In conclusion, we feel this is one of the best looking X5s out there and, perhaps the fastest.
