Mahindra has announced a significant price reduction for the XUV700, with discounts of up to Rs 70,000. This follows a previous discount of Rs 2.2 lakh introduced in July to celebrate the SUV reaching the 2 lakh production milestone within less than three years of its launch. While the earlier discount applied to the AX7 and AX7 L trims, the latest reduction targets the AX5 trim.
Detailed Price Changes
Specifically, the AX5 Diesel AT 5-seater and AX3 Diesel AT 7-seater have both seen a Rs 20,000 price drop. The AX5 Diesel AT 7-seater now costs Rs 20.39 lakh, reflecting a Rs 70,000 reduction. Additionally, the AX5 Diesel manual 7-seater variant has been reduced by Rs 50,000. The AX5 manual 7-seater and the AX5 manual 7-seater with electronic stability have also been cut by Rs 50,000 each.

Impact on Sales
Mahindra’s pricing strategy aims to enhance the XUV700’s market competitiveness. Following a substantial price cut for the top-spec AX7 and AX7 L variants in early July, the company reported a threefold increase in orders for the XUV700. Previously priced between Rs 21.39 lakh and Rs 26.99 lakh, the AX7 and AX7 L variants now range from Rs 19.49 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). In July alone, Mahindra received over 10,000 bookings for the XUV700.

Engine and Performance
The XUV700 offers two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine producing 197 bhp and 380 Nm of torque, and a 2.2-litre diesel engine delivering up to 182 bhp and 450 Nm of torque. Both engines come with a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic gearbox.
Safety Features
Safety features are a major highlight of the XUV700, including Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), seven airbags, electronic stability control, an electronic park brake, and auto-booster headlamps. These features contribute to the XUV700’s five-star Global NCAP crash test rating. Certain variants also offer an all-wheel-drive system, enhancing traction and control, making the XUV700 one of the safest vehicles in India.
