Mahindra has announced that subsequent to the retirement of Mr. Anoop Mathur, President Two-Wheeler Sector and Member of the Group Executive Board, on 31st March 2014, its Two-Wheeler business would move to the Automotive and Farm Equipment Sectors (AFS), which is headed by Dr. Pawan Goenka, Executive Director and President- AFS. This realignment would help the two-wheeler business take advantage of synergies with AFS across the value chain including R&D, sourcing, manufacturing, distribution, marketing and human capital.

Following this transition, with effect from 1st April 2014, Mr. Rajesh Jejurikar, Chief Executive-Tractor & Farm Mechanization, will look after the Two-Wheeler business in addition to his current responsibility and will continue to report to Dr. Goenka.

Worth mentioning is that Mr. Anoop Mathur has played a key role in building up Mahindra’s two-wheeler business since its formation in 2008. Today, the bike maker is present in both the domestic scooter and motorcycle segments, and its products are being seeded in many international markets. Today the business has a state-of-the-art R&D facility, strong product pipeline, world class manufacturing setup, well entrenched sales and distribution network and, above all, human capital to manage the growth of the business in the future.
