Mahindra Teases Thar-E: Set For Full Reveal on 15th August!

Mahindra and Mahindra has a tradition of revealing new products every year on August 15th. This year, they have exciting surprises in store for us. One of them is a concept of an electric version of the popular Mahindra Thar SUV dubbed Thar-E. This time they are hosting the event in Cape Town. Earlier it was speculated but now through official teasers it has been confirmed.

Mahindra Thar-E

The Electric Thar concept will be different from regular electric cars. It will have four electric motors instead of the usual two, making it better for off-road driving. This means it can handle rough terrains and be great fun for adventure lovers.

Extraordinary Features

Moreover, the Electric Thar will have a special feature called “crab steer capability,” which lets all four wheels turn at an angle. This helps the car move sideways easily, making parking in tight spots a piece of cake. It can even do a 360-degree turn, making it great for off-road and city driving.

Though we don’t know all the details yet, we are not sure if the Electric Thar will have the same structure as the regular Thar with its strong frame or if it will use a new electric platform. Each option has its advantages; for example, the new electric platform might make the car lighter and increase its driving range, while the traditional frame will give it more strength for off-road and towing tasks.

Mahindra Thar-E Performance

Upon further speculation we can assume that there might be two versions of the Thar following the ICE trend. A 4X2 variant and a 4X4 Variant, 4X4 variant will be completely new. Whereas the 4X2 version could use the same motor and battery tech from the XUV 400. A 39.4kWh unit could feature in the Thar E, these batteries produce a common output of 150bhp and 310Nm of torque.

We are eagerly waiting for August 15th to see the Electric Thar concept. It has the potential to be a game-changer in the world of electric SUVs, offering a mix of adventure and eco-friendly driving for all kinds of drivers.
