Mahindra has finally launched the much-awaited Scorpio Classic at ₹11.99 lakh for the base S version and ₹15.49 lakh for the S11 variant. The Scorpio Classic is a refreshed version of the old Scorpio which will co-exist with the new Scorpio N since the Classic still has a strong demand in the rural market and smaller towns whereas the more premium Scorpio N will cater to the modern consumers.
Mahindra has made some changes to the Scorpio Classic to keep it fresh. The projector headlights are more or less the same but Mahindra has added LED DRLs which are placed above the fog lamps. It also gets a new six-slat grille with Mahindra’s new twin peaks logo placed in the middle. The S11 variant comes with 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels whereas the S variant comes with steel wheels. The rear is more or less the same with the only change being that the LED taillamps are now red in color. The Scorpio Classic will be available in five colors – Red Rage, Napoli Back, Dsat Silver, Pearl White, and a newly introduced Galaxy Grey.
The interiors of the Scorpio Classic have been spruced up as well and it now comes with a black and beige theme. It gets new wooden inserts on the center console and some piano black elements as well. The steering wheel houses Mahindra’s new logo and the gear lever has been borrowed from the newer Mahindra SUVs like the XUV700. It also gets a new and larger 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system which comes with smartphone mirroring. Other than this, the Scorpio Classic comes equipped with automatic climate control, push-button start-stop, and cruise control to name a few. . The Scorpio Classic is offered in 7 and 9-seater options. The Scorpio Classic is powered by a new Gen 2, 2.2-litre mHawk engine that produces 132hp and 300Nm of torque. It comes mated to a 6-speed manual transmission and power is sent to the rear wheels.

The engine is 55 kilos lighter and is 14 percent more fuel efficient than the engine that powered the previous model. Mahindra has also tweaked the suspension for reduced body roll and improved the steering input for better control.
