The Bolero Neo Plus from Mahindra will shortly be added to the Bolero lineup- a longer variant of the body-on-frame, sub-four metre Bolero Neo SUV. The forthcoming Bolero Neo SUV will largely be a redesigned version of the tough TUV300 Plus, which was sold from 2018 until April 2020.
After a pause, Mahindra has resumed testing the Bolero Neo Plus, which it had previously been doing. The most recent spy images get a closer view of the forthcoming SUV’s design.
Design
In the spy shots, the SUV is seen with a sculpted front bumper, a toothy grille completed in chrome, and long black shoulder cladding. The 15-inch alloy wheels on the Bolero Neo Plus will match those on the standard Bolero Neo. The Bolero Neo Plus does not appear to have blacked-out B- and C-pillars, unlike its sibling that is shorter than four metres.
The Plus’s rear design would change dramatically from the Bolero Neo’s, as it did with the TUV300 and TUV300 Plus. Minor rear bumper and taillight changes will be made to the Bolero Neo Plus. However, it will still have a spare wheel installed on the tailgate with a ‘X’ cover.
Interiors
There will be five trim levels and two seating configurations available for the Bolero Neo Plus- a 7-seater and a 9-seater. There will also be a special ambulance version with a bed and space for up to four people for emergency services.
The dashboard will have a similar layout to the Bolero Neo, and a comparable level of equipment, with top-end vehicles getting options like touchscreens and leatherette upholstery.
Powertrain
A five-speed manual transmission will be paired with a 100hp, 1.5-liter diesel engine in the Bolero Neo Plus. It won’t have 4WD, and Mahindra is unlikely to give it an automatic transmission. It might, however, receive a mechanical locking differential like the Bolero Neo, which aids in slick conditions and poor traction.
The launch of the Mahindra Bolero Neo Plus can be anticipated in the coming months.
