The made in India Hyundai Creta scored four out of five stars in the New Car Assessment Programme (NCAP) for Latin America. The tested model that featured a LHD configuration was produced for the Latin American market. A side impact test of the car was not performed although the Body Shell Integrity was concluded to be stable.
Frontal impact test of the Latin NCAP pointed out that the air-bags at the front protected the heads of the driver and the passenger well, while the knee areas showed low risk structures and the chest received ample protection. It was further added that the Creta was proficient enough to withstand further weight.
Safety features of the Creta that was tested includes Front seat belt pretensioners, load limiters, driver frontal airbag, front passenger frontal airbag, ABS, Seat Belt Reminder (SBR) and ISOFIX anchorages.
15.57 out of 17 in adult occupancy safety and 29.87 out of 49 for child occupancy safety is what the Creta scored at the Latin NCAP test. Regarding child safety, the test revealed that the child seat for a 3 year old was able to prevent excessive forward movement during the impact. The lack of ABS and airbags as a standard feature kept the Creta away from attaining a better rating.
