The Lamborghini Huracán Spyder has been launched in India today, with prices starting from INR 3.89 Crores (ex-showroom Delhi). Based on the same, albeit more stiffened hybrid (carbon fiber + aluminium) chassis of the Huracan coupe, the Huracan Sypder’s chassis is 40% more torsional stiffness as compared to its spiritual predecessor, the Gallardo Spyder. The lightweight, electro-hydraulic fabric roof, available in three different colors- black, brown and red, can be lowered with a push of a button in 17 seconds and up to a driving speed of 50 km/h.
The Huracán Spyder features a flat under-body, a large rear diffuser and an integrated rear spoiler, which results in a 50% increase in downforce when compared with its predecessor. Instead of the engine cover on the Huracán coupe, the Sypder gets a stack of fins behind the seats, in the valley created by the buttresses. The rear window can now be lowered, even with the roof in its position.
The 5.2-litre, naturally aspirated V10 engine, good for 610 bhp, is retained from the coupe, and is mated to a clinically precise 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. The Italian drop-top’s dry weight of just 1541.76 kg allows for a power-to-weight ratio of 2.53 Kg per hp, propelling the Spyder from zero to 100km/h in 3.4 seconds and onto a top speed of 324km/h.
Other highlights of the Huracán Spyder include magneto-rheological dampers, launch control, stability control, and three driving modes – Starda, Sport and Corsa. Through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam customization programme, over 30,000 colour combinations are available, in case you think that your Spyder might just go unnoticed.
