Lamborghini Aventador catches fire on German autobahn

Supercars around the world meet with accidents. Few days back, we reported a Lamborghini splitting in two after an accident. Earlier this week, a hotel valet in Delhi rammed a customer’s Lamborghini Gallardo in the premises. But this time, the news is more on the manufacturing defect of the vehicle.

A Lamborghini Aventador that received an engine replacement caught fire during the test drive. It still remains to be known why the fairly new vehicle was provided with an engine replacement which turned out to be a nightmare for the owner.

Shortly after receiving a new V12 6.5-liter engine with 700 PS (515 kW), the vehicle was taken out for a test drive on the Autobahn in Germany where the new engine overheated and caught fire. By the time the firefighters had arrived, the USD 400,000 car was as total loss.

The reason behind the loss is still unknown. But we believe the owner would get a replacement for his vehicle, that is unless the company wants to get sued!
