LaFerrari’s Successor Could Feature More Than 1200HP, Outpacing the SF90xx

A few days after the SF90xx reveal. A big winged Ferrari was spotted testing, dubbed the F-250 which will be a successor to the LaFerrari.

We’ve seen the car testing on a handful of occasions in recent months and like all other prototypes. This one is also bathed in fake body panels and camouflage. Nevertheless, it’s obvious that what Ferrari is developing will be a serious bit of kit and that it should be capable of some truly extraordinary performance feats.

Ferrari F-250

While some feared that the LaFerrari’s successor is going to be all electric. However it will be not the case as the new car will feature some kind of Internal combustion engine with high hybrid assistance, probably a V6 as a V12 is highly unlikely. Details on the engine are still blurry. Although a V6 can be taken or be inspired by Ferrari’s Formula 1 or Le Mans technology programs.

A combination of a single electric motor and a V12 engine allowed LaFerrari to achieve an impressive 950 horsepower. However, in order to surpass the speed of both the SF90xx’s 1030 HP and the LaFerrari’s 950 HP, a significant increase in power would be necessary. A reasonable target would be around 1,200 horsepower.

Although it’s difficult to determine the exact power output of the car, considering that the SF90 Stradale already delivers 986 hp, it would be astounding if the F250 had anything less than 1,200 hp. With a weight of just over 1,200 kg (2,654 lbs), such power would ensure excellent performance, allowing the car to remain competitive in an era where all-electric hypercars are approaching the 2,000 hp milestone.

Exterior

Due to the prototype’s fake body panels, it is challenging to determine the exact appearance of the car. However, we can make some assumptions based on what we can see. The front of the car is expected to be very low, featuring a large grille and air intakes for cooling. Additionally, it appears that the car will have either butterfly or gullwing-style doors, adding to its unique design.

Notably, the prototype showcases incredibly large brakes, indicating its high-performance nature. Moving to the rear, one cannot miss the huge wing, which immediately captures attention. If the wing remains in the final production car, the F250 will join the F50 and SF90 XX as the only Ferrari road cars in the past 30 years to feature such prominent rear wings.
