KTM has officially released the 2023 version of the basic 890 Adventure, which was updated with 890 Adventure R in September.
The main goals of the updates are to increase the number of customization choices and improve the bike’s suitability for both rough terrain and on-road riding. There are two new colour choices, and each seem just as defiant. With hues of black, white, and grey mixed in with the brilliant KTM characteristic orange, the colour scheme is varied. Different metallic shades on the exhaust canister and tip help to emphasise the bike’s dynamic appearance.
Power & Supension
The motorcycle has an 889cc parallel-twin engine. It is said to produce 100Nm of maximum torque at 6,500 rpm and 104 horsepower at 8,000 rpm. A 6-speed gearbox with a steel tube frame below is included with the engine. The KTM 890 Adventure R has WP USD forks up front and a mono-shock from WP at the back for suspension purposes. The units in the front and back are both movable. The motorcycle’s 2023 model has an Xplor PDS (Progressive Damping System) rear shock that eliminates the need for a linkage.
The motorcycle has upswept exhaust, flat seat, elevated handlebars, and knuckle protectors. It has two-disc brakes up front and one disc brake at the back. The KTM 890 Adventure R comes equipped with a number of riding aids, such as traction control, ride modes, and ABS. The KTM 890 Adventure R will also have a new TFT screen with toggle switches that can be used to access various riding modes and other settings in 2023. The motorcycle has Bluetooth connectivity.
The motorcycle has a large windscreen and vertically stacked LED headlamps. The adventure motorcycle has handlebar guards and a belly pan for added security.
The motorcycle was on display during the 2022 edition of India Bike Week. It shared the pavilion with other high-end products in the category such the KTM 450 Rally designed for Dakar and the 1290 Super Duke R MotoGP machine. When it is released, the Triumph Tiger 900, Ducati Multistrada V2, and other motorcycles will be in competition with the KTM 890 Adventure R. The specific release date for the KTM 890 Adventure R motorcycle has not been made public by the manufacturer.
