2025 Versys 1100 – what’s new?

Building upon its predecessor, the new Versys 1100 boasts a 1,099cc inline-four engine, up from the previous 1,043cc. This upgrade results from a 3mm increase in stroke, enhancing both power and torque. The engine now produces 135 PS at 9,000 rpm and 112 Nm of torque at 7,600 rpm.

To improve mid-range performance, Kawasaki has implemented several engine modifications. These include longer center intake funnels, narrower intake ports, and revised cam profiles. A heavier flywheel and a secondary balancer have been added to reduce vibrations, contributing to a smoother ride. An oil cooler is also now standard to maintain optimal engine temperatures.

The 2025 Versys 1100 features a six-speed transmission with optimized gear ratios for better fuel efficiency and relaxed cruising. The Kawasaki Quick Shifter (KQS) has been updated to function from as low as 1,500 rpm, allowing for seamless gear changes. Rider aids such as Kawasaki Traction Control (KTRC), cornering management, and selectable power modes enhance safety and adaptability across various riding conditions.

In terms of design, the Versys 1100 maintains its adventure-touring aesthetics with a robust frame and long-travel suspension. The bike is equipped with a USB Type-C outlet for device charging and electronic cruise control for comfortable long-distance travel. The SE variant stands out with Showa electronically controlled suspension, offering real-time adjustments to damping settings based on road conditions.
