Italian Moto Morini coming to India in association with Vardenchi

Moto Morini Corsaro 1200

Some of you may be familiar with the Motorcycle brand Moto Morini – a small time Italian maker of motorcycles. The company may be small, but its products are world class, and their Italian pedigree is rather unadulterated. Now, Vardenchi, one of the better known custom motorcycle makers from India is joining hands with the Italian bike maker to bring the brand to India.

In return, Moto Morini will supposedly use its European footprint to sell Vardenchi’s products in the west. Overdrive magazine has broken the news, and they claim that the details on the pact are rather fuzzy at this point, but an agreement has been made nonetheless. The models which will be traded under the MoU have not been mentioned by Overdrive yet, but count on us to ring up our old time friend Akshay Varde, the man behind Vardenchi Customs and find out all the details very soon.

Vardenchi may also use the V twins from Moto Morini’s engine range to power its beautiful custom cruisers. Till now Vardenchi has been using only RE engines for its custom motorcycles. Using more powerful Vee twins will lend the brand a more international appeal. Currently Vardenchi offers unique customizations, as well a range of specific design models such as the Sunburn, Turbo and Infinity.

Moto Morini, on the other hand has its own range of motorcycles, ranging from the 117 bhp SCRAMBLER 1200 to the 140 bhp CORSARO 1200 VELOCE. Expect the minimum price to start from Rs 16 lakh if the brand comes here via the CBU route.

Stay tuned for more details on the subject in a bit.
