As we continue to challenge possibilities and dynamics of mobility, our pursuit of innovation is perfectly reflected in the Electric Global Modular Platform – E-GMP. With the introduction of E-GMP to India, we will be able to provide customers with advanced battery electric vehicles, derived from a platform that is modular, scalable and versatile. Conceptualized and engineered to pivot the future transformation of Electric Mobility, E-GMP will usher in a new league of Electric Vehicles for the smart new age customers in India.”

Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP)

Hyundai’s E-GMP platform is based on four pillars – Modularity, Performance, Reliability, and Usability. The platform is flexible and supports multiple body types be it Sedans, Hatch, or SUVs. The chassis, battery, motor, and power electric system make up the E-GMP platform. The battery pack will be able to power electronic appliances as well with its bi-directional charging plug. The Integrated Charging Control Unit (ICCU) charges both the high-voltage as well as the auxiliary battery.

Safety on E-GMP

E-GMP is a reliable platform and boasts high safety standards. The IONIQ 5 has already scored a 5-star safety rating in the G-NCAP. The chassis is designed in a way to have enough crumple zones to ensure passenger safety. The structural integrity is maintained thanks to high-strength steel. The battery too is enclosed in a steel casing for maximum protection.
