The other big launch coming up from Hyundai Motor India Ltd. is that of the new Hyundai Santa Fe. The all new Santa Fe will step into Indian car market on February 6th.

The new Santa Fe is underpinned by an all new platform and features Korean car maker’s Storm Edge design language. Storm Edge is basically the evolution of Fludic Sculpture and has been followed by the Fluidic Precision. The Santa Fe is 40 mm longer and 5 mm wider than the outgoing model. The wheelbase, at 2700mm, remains the same.

In international markets, the new Hyundai Santa Fe is available with choice of two petrol engine options. These include a 2 liter turbo and a 2.4 liter naturally aspirated motors. However, it is pretty much obvious that these engines won’t come to us and what we would get is a 2.2 liter CRDI diesel engine. Basically, the engine will be carried over from the outgoing model. The power-torque at 194bhp-44.45kgm remains untouched and the only change that has been made to the oil burner is the inclusion of Piezo injectors, that leads to better fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The engine will come with six-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission options. Both the AT and MT variants get on-demand four-wheel-drive system as standard.

Other than showcasing these two new models, HMIL will showcase all its current cars, which range from the budget basement Eon to the high-end Sonata Fluidic.

Stay tuned to Motoroids for more dope on the Auto Expo 2014 and on the i10 Grand sedan and new Santa Fe.
