Hyundai Launches Santro CNG Executive Edition

Hyundai Motors India has launched new variants of its entry-level hatchback, Santro. This includes two new CNG variants- the Magna Executive CNG and the Sportz Executive CNG. With this update, Hyundai has discontinued the higher-spec Santro Sportz CNG variant. Both these trims are powered by CNG and have been renamed as Magna Executive CNG and Sportz Executive CNG. Out of the duo, the Santro Magna Executive CNG comes with similar features and price, compared to the standard Magna CNG variant.

Apart from this, Hyundai has also introduced the Corporate Edition for the Magna trim of the Santro. The Corporate Edition is available with both MT and AMT gearbox of the Magna trim. The Corporate Edition comes for a small premium compared to the standard Magna variants, while the Executive Edition is priced equivalent to the standard CNG variants.

Speaking about the power and perfromance, the corporate edition comes with a  1.1-litre petrol engine that produces 68bhp of power and 99Nm of torque. It comes in two different options- a 5-speed MT or a 5-speed AMT. On the other hand, the CNG Executive Edition variants also come with the same 1.1-litre petrol engine with the factory fitted CNG kit, paired only with a 5-speed manual gearbox. With CNG, this engine is capable of delivering 59bhp of power and 85Nm of torque.

Hyundai SANTRO – Interior

On the feature front, the Magna Executive CNG is just as equipped as the standard Magna CNG variant. It gets a 2-DIN audio system with two speakers, a roof-mounted antenna, manual AC, and steering mounted audio and Bluetooth controls.  The more premuim, Sportz Executive CNG variant comes with a touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, electrically adjustable ORVMs with integrated turn indicators and a day/night IRVM, along with all other features. On the safety front, both variants get the standard features along with a driver’s airbag, ABS, a fire extinguisher, central locking, rear parking sensors and a speed alert system.

The Magna Executive CNG starts at Rs 5.87 lakh, which is actualy a premium of Rs 1,800 over the standard Magna CNG. On the other hand, the Sportz Executive CNG starts at Rs 5.99 lakhs, which is lower than the standard Sportz CNG variant. However, compared to the standard Sportz CNG, the Santro Sportz Executive CNG compromises some features like the front fog lamps, keyless entry via remote, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility and rear speakers.
