Hyundai recently made a few changes in the color scheme of the Kona EV. Apart from the revised color options, no other changes have been made to the features or specifications of the Korean EV. The Hyundai Kona may feel quite long in the tooth now considering that the facelifted version has already been launched abroad. The Kona EV will soon be joined by the Ioniq 5 in the coming months as the second EV by Hyundai.

The previous colour scheme of Hyundai Kona electric included four options, Polar White, Phantom Black, Typhoon Silver, and Polar White with Phantom Black. Replacing the Silver color, the company has introduced two new dual-tone colours which are Fiery Red with Phantom Black roof and Titan Grey with Phantom Black roof. With that being said, the Hyundai Kona Electric now offers a total of five colour options namely, Polar White, Phantom Black, Polar White with Phantom Black roof, Fiery Red with Phantom Black roof, and Titan Grey with Phantom Black roof.’

The Hyundai Kona Electric gets its power from a 39.2 kWh battery that powers an electric motor producing 134 bhp of peak power and 395 Nm of peak torque. It comes with four driving modes – Eco, Eco+, Comfort, and Sport. And it has paddle shifters for adjusting regenerative braking. The Kona delivered a 0-100 km/h sprint time, of 9.7 seconds as claimed by the company. ARAI certified range of Kona is 452 Km whereas you can expect around 350-360Km on a single charge in real-world driving conditions. Hyundai says there are three charging options available. The 50 kW fast charger can charge the car’s battery to 80% in 57 minutes. There is also the 7.2 kW AC charger available that Hyundai says it can install in your home. It will take around 6 hours to charge up. There is the 2.8 kW portable charger, which requires a significant amount of time to charge up.

Hyundai has already launched the Kona facelift abroad which comes with updated styling, more tech, and an improved powertrain. On the safety front, the new Hyundai Kona Electric is equipped with an upgraded Hyundai SmartSense package, which includes some handy features like- Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, Safe Exit Warning, and Rear Seat Alert. Another important safety feature is the Leading Vehicle Departure Alert function, which will alert the driver if the vehicle ahead, starts moving.
