The Ford EcoSport is easily among the most talked about vehicles of recent times. The Ford EcoSport is not just close to being launched in India and looks poised to become quite a threat to the Renault Duster but is already ruling over the compact SUV markets of various countries around the globe.
Looking at all this, it is tough to deny that the Compact SUV segment is heating up at an alarming rate, alarming enough to compel most auto manufacturers to come up with their own contenders for the fast developing segment.
One such manufacturer is Korean auto giant Hyundai, which is busy with the development of a new vehicle that will be a direct rival to the EcoSport.
Seen appended here the first ever spyshots of the upcoming Hyundai EcoSport rival. The upcoming Hyundai compact crossover could borrow quite a few design cues from the Kia Provo Concept which was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show this year.
However, the car is sure to sport typical Hyundai design elements such as a horizontal grill with chrome slats, chunky headlights and a sculpted bumper.
Nothing much is known about the engine options for this car but we do expect that the Korean manufacturer would offer its new range of compact petrol and diesel engines. One of these motors could be the new 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine details of which Hyundai unveiled last year. This engine could snatch some limelight away from the much hyped Ford EcoBoost engine.
Hyundai’s EcoSport challenger is expected to make its debut sometime late next year and it is pretty much for sure that the car would come to us.
