Hyundai and ITC tie up to focus on rural markets

One of the largest car manufacturers in India, Hyundai has signed an MOU with ITC Agro Business Division in order to spread awareness in the Rural markets of the country. Hyundai cars are known for their brilliant package brimmed with a premium finish and are loaded with features. Also, Hyundai cars have a low cost of maintenance. This MOU depicts the vibrant vision of the progress of the brand in order to cater to more customers.

About the Partnership

Hyundai Motor India Ltd. Has signed an MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) with the business division of the popular ITC Group in order to capture the rural regions of the country. Under this MOU, the Choupal Sagar hypermart, which is an ITC initiative, will promote the lineup of Hyundai cars and provide excellent aftersales service to the customers. Various events like car displays, canopies, AV displays, and test drives will be organized in order to contribute to the sales growth of Hyundai. Apart from this, the brand will also rectify the problems of customers including the information of the official recall announcements. However, this service will be initially available in a few states of India including Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, etc. Later, Hyundai will extend this program to 10 various states of India in order to focus on increasing the presence of the brand.

Commenting on the association, Mr. Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer, of Hyundai Motor India Ltd. said, “India is a diverse market and our customers are spread across regions with different cultures, practices, and buying behavior. When we look at the Indian market, our SUVs have won the hearts and minds of customers across major metros. The trend is similar in rural markets as well; Rural India demonstrates an inclination towards the SUV segment with a contribution of over 47% to HMIL’s overall sales with the Hyundai VENUE topping the charts with a contribution of 24% and the Hyundai CRETA’s contribution standing at a healthy 23%. We recently achieved a milestone of 1 lakh rural sales in CY 2022. By undertaking an MoU with ITC, we have partnered with their Agro Business Division, leveraging the Company’s transformative initiatives like Choupal Saagar, e-Choupal, and ITCMAARS, thereby fortifying our commitment to support the dreams of over 4 million farmers across 35 000 villages who are an integral part of the e-Choupal eco-system. This association is aimed at strengthening HMIL’s brand resonance and association with potential customers across the hinterland of India.”
