According to a new report released by Indian automotive magazine Evo India, Honda will launch its new 2016 Africa Twin, officially known as CRF1000L, for the Indian market at the 2016 Auto Expo. Revealed in July 2015, the Africa Twin is an adventure tourer motorcycle that is claimed to have been equipped with a potent engine and dynamic chassis ready to cover continents on or off-road.
The Africa Twin features a dual headlight setup and comes equipped with a 18.8-litre of fuel tank. The seat height can be adjusted by 20mm to either 870mm or 850mm. Internationally. the CRF1000L Africa Twin is available in three colour options – CRF Rally, Tricolour and Black.

Mechanically, the CRF1000L Africa Twin’s 998cc parallel twin power plant draws heavily on Honda’s off-road race experience in the form of the CRF250R/450R competition machines. The engine uses the same four-valve Unicam head design for compact overall dimensions. Churning out 94 bhp of power at 7500 rpm and 98 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm, the adventurer tourer is available with two gearboxes – a six speed manual and a six speed DCT with on- and off-road riding modes.
