Japanese car giant Honda recently released a teaser images of its upcoming Civic Type-R concept, which is set to make its public debut at the fast approaching Geneva Motor Show next month.
Needless to say, the Civic Type R enjoys a lot of fame and popularity and has been the hot favorite of many car enthusiasts and boy racers alike.
Currently, the Honda Civic Type R is powerwed by a 2.0 litre four cylinder petrol engine that has a max power of 200PS and peak torque of 192Nm. The engine comes mated to a six speed manual gearbox, which sends power to the front wheels. Coupled with a kerb weight of merely 1338 kgs and a sub 7 seconds run to 100kmph from standstill, the Type R is sufficiently potent to give some scare to more powerful machines. Quite obviously, the next gen Type R will be at least marginally quicker and faster than the current model, with a max power output of probably 230PS.
We await the public debut of the new Honda Civic Type R concept and safely expect us to update you with more details once we manage to dig out some. Stay tuned to Motoroids for complete coverage of 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
