Honda Activa 125 vs Activa 110- Price, Features and Spec sheet comparison

Earlier this year at the Auto Expo 2014, Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India, among the fastest growing players in Indian bike market, revealed the new Honda Activa 125. The new Activa 125 is set to go on sale shortly and while we’ve already reported about every minute detail of the upcoming scooter, today we have come up with a spec sheet and features comparison of the Honda Activa 125 and Activa 110 to give you an idea of the differences between the upcoming flagship and the current best seller of HMSI. Honda Activa 125 vs Activa 110 — Price

While HMSI has so far refrained from releasing the Honda Activa 125 prices, various reports on the cyber space suggest that the new scooter will be priced around the INR 56,000 for the drum brake variant and INR 63,000 for the disc brake variant. In comparison, the Honda Activa 110 has an ex showroom price of approximately INR 49,500 here in Pune. This means that the bigger, more powerful variant will be around INR 6-7k pricier than the 110cc variant.

Powering the new Honda Activa 125 is a 125cc, single cylinder, four stroke engine that has a max power of 8.6bhp at 6500 rpm and peak torque of 10.12 Nm at 5500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a V-Matic CVT transmission. The Activa0 125 sports telescoping forks up front and spring loaded hydraulic type shock absorbers at the rear. The flagship variant gets a 190mm disc brake, while the drum brakes on duty measure 135mm in diameter. In comparison, while the Activa’s 110cc engine develops a max power of 8 bhp @ 7500 rpm and peak torque of 8.74 Nm @ 5500 rpm. Now, this means while the Activa 125 is only a little more powerful, it is in the torque figures where the A125 really scores! All this means that in real world performance, the upcoming variant will have a definite upper hand over A110 in terms of performance. Also, the Activa 110 misses out on telescopic forks and boasts of Spring loaded hydraulic type suspension at both ends. It also misses out on the disc brake.

While the Activa boasts of a claimed fuel mileage of 60kmpl, it is expected that the upcoming variant would have a claimed FE of around 48-50 kmpl.

Features list on the Activa 110 include- an ‘inner’ storage box (optional), a key shutter mechanism and Combi brake system. In addition to all of these, the new Activa 125 also gets features such as a new digital speedometer and five-spoke alloys.

The new Honda Activa 125 will go on sale in four colors– Midnight Blue Metallic, Black, Peal Sunbeam White and Sword Silver Metallic.
