Gulf Foster A Child car Drive to be held on 12th February

The Gulf Foster A Child Car Drive  is an event that aims to make a difference to all the participants, and more significantly the orphan and underprivileged kids-an integral part of the event. The noble event will be seen happening on the 12th February 2012.

Good folks at Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd. have been sponsoring this event since 8 years and every year the event is being organized differently.The Sportscraft organized event is open to drivers one and all –  but only to the first 60 entrants on first come will be accepted.  The event will be ushered off from Our Ladies Home Parel & and wind up Dukes Retreat & Key Resorts – Khandala

The event is supported by Hinduja Hospital for the backup medical support in terms of Ambulances and doctor.

What is unique and sets this event apart from the others is the presence of over 50 wide-eyed orphans from Our Lady’s Home, Parel and Sharddhanand Mahilashram – Matunga. No doubt, this being a classless event it means that any person with a valid driving license can take part but additionally each car’s crew will be made up of a driver, navigator and minimum one child plus one orphan / underprivileged child. Yes, every participating vehicle must have one orphan / underprivileged child in the vehicle allotted by the organizers. The above mentioned orphanage / under privileged institutes are supported by Gulf Oil Corporation in terms of Kind – Gifts which is required by the institutes.

Another unique aspect of the event will be that participants will be handed over route charts one minute before their flag off time. This route charts enables them to follow the route – set by the organizers – from start to finish And yes the participants will have to provide the right answers to the questions posed  for the drive will be broken up by certain pit stops along the route. At these pit stops every participant will be asked a question. On the basis of the correct answers and duration of the event, the winner will be chosen.

The event involves no speed or racing. It is only about steadfastly and effectively following the tulip chart and checking in at various pit stop. So, come in at your Sunday best for there is a special prize which involves a trophy with a gift hamper for Best Dressed Team including the orphan child, and also for the Best Decorated Car. Ladies especially will have to be at their sparkling best for the about 130-kilometre event as there are special prizes earmarked for All-Ladies team too. The last date for entries is open till 8th February which will have to reach Sportscraft, Chitrakut, 3rd Floor, Siri Road, Chowpatty Bandstand, Mumbai-400 006.
