In an unfortunate event, which took place in Jiuquan (Gansu province) in China, the General Manager of Shanghai Volkswagen Automotive, Liu Jian, was killed alongwith three other people in an accident that occurred during a test drive. The incident claimed lives of the company’s Public Relations Director, Zeng Jialin, one of the Joint- Business Aftersales Manager and the car’s driver.
According to media reports, a Volkwagen dealers meeting was scheduled to take place in Jiuquan and the four men were on their way to the event in a VW Tiguan, compact SUV, when it collided head- on with a heavy truck. The local police was assisted in its investigation by a special team sent by the joint venture between Volkswagen and SAIC Motors.
