The Skoda Octavia vRS has been the natural enthusiasts’ choice in india, raking in positive popularity over the past few years. With the latest Skoda Octavia launched in the country to a warm response, the mad hatter vRS models are not far off. However, Skoda was recently caught testing an ever faster Octavia Combi vRS, and it seems that the VAG Group owned Czech manufacturer is keen to draw some attention back to its sporting flagship.
2014 marks 40 years of Skoda’s vRS division. And this latest prototype, seen with Audi RS3 wheels, matte black paintwork, quad exhausts and red calipers could be the perfect celebratory throwback. Rumored to be powered by the VW Golf R’s ballistic drivetrain, this one promises north of 280 horses.
The limited-slip differential from the Golf Performance GTI and Seat Leon Cupra R could be offered and the 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) run should be dispatched in around 6 seconds taking into account the standard Octavia RS does it in 6.8 seconds.
The car could be unveiled late November at the Essen Motor Show, and given that it’s a 40th anniversary vRD special for Skoda , it is expected to be a very special vRS indeed. Stay tuned for more.
