Netherlands based Ducati dealership Ducati Affetto like any other facility deals in sales and service of Ducati motorcycles, but every winter they go out of their routine and create a Ducati Special. Last year they set their hands on a Ducati Sports Classic 1000 converting it into a café racer.
This time Affetto Ducati chose the Ducati Multistrada 1200 and inspired by Toubkal- a peak in the Atlas mountains of southwest Morocco and for record the highest mountain peak in North Africa, enhanced the dual sport motorcycle with accessories transforming into what Affetto calls a true Super Enduro that it claims to be ready for use even on desert terrain.
Speaking on the enhancements, the spoked alloy wheels of the Multistrada have been replaced by a set of wired wheels running on tubeless tyres. The body of the Multistrada has been provided with enhanced crash protection by way of heavy duty Touratech crash bars. A high mounted and upswept diamond shaped carbon fibre screen has been added for reduction of wind turbulence to the rider and the vents being given a mesh’d out treatment. Aluminium panniers are provided to lug around the usual touring necessities.
The 1198cc Testastretta L-Twin engine has been mated to a new exhaust system constructed with a mix of titanium. But the biggest attraction on the Ducati Multistrada 1200 Toubkal has to be the paintjob. A mix of the usual Ducati red with contrasting shades of white and black does make the motorcycle a treat to look at. Needless to say….”We want one!”
