Citroen C3 Automatic Launched In Brazil

Citroen has launched the new C3 in Brazil. The Brazil-spec version of the Citroen C3 comes packed with a bunch of new advanced features that the Indian on-road C3 misses out on. More importantly, it gets the option of a 6-speed automatic transmission. These features and the automatic transmission are expected to make their way to India sometime in the future.

Out of the many features offered is the different colour scheme compared to the India-spec C3 which gets the orange theme with white accents. The Brazilian version gets a new colour scheme with both dual and single-tone paint options. Citroen offers steel wheels as standards in India and for alloy wheels, customers need to pay additionally. However, the Brazil-spec offers alloy wheels as standard on the top variants.

Additional features of the C3 offered in the Brazilian market are a rear washer and wiper, rearview camera, and electrically operated outer rearview mirrors. Other features remain the same as the India-spec with a 10.2-inch touchscreen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay and manual AC. The rear seats are almost similar but they additionally get three-point seatbelts and adjustable headrests for all three rear passengers. Citroen C3 for the Brazil market is also stronger on the safety front when compared to the Indian spec as it comes equipped with six airbags and a hill start assist. 

Both models are similar in terms of design and dimensions. However, the powertrain gets a change as the C3 for the Brazilian market gets power from 1-litre and 1.6-liter petrol engines which also come with 6-speed automatic option. The Indian variant doesn’t include that option and is offered with a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated (NA) and turbo petrol engines mated to 5-speed and 6-speed manual transmissions respectively. The C3 is the second offering from Citroen in India and also the first mass-market offering for the country. The C3 competes in the B segment which has everything from hatchbacks to compact SUVs. It is priced between ₹5.70 lakh and ₹8.05 lakh ex-showroom. The C3 is available in Live and Feel variants.
