BS6 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Becomes Costlier, Here’s How Much It Costs Now
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V has joined the list of the vehicles which have received a price hike in the past couple of months. The 200cc offering from TVS remains one of the best motorcycles in its category.
The 200cc segment might be a little crowded but among the top contenders, the TVS Apache RTR 200 4V does stand out. It was one of the first motorcycles in TVS’ lineup to receive the BS6 treatment. The 200cc offering from the Hosur-based manufacturer has just received a price hike. Manufacturers are trying to pass on the additional costs of manufacturing BS6 vehicles to customers and the recent price hikes are a testimony to the fact.
It isn’t the first time that the Apache RTR 200 has received a price hike. The BS6 iteration of the same motorcycle has already received two price hikes in the past. One in March and the other was rolled out in the month of May.
The BS6 TVS Apache RTR 200 4V now costs INR 1,28,550 which is INR 1,050 more. The specifications and features of the motorbike remain unaltered. Talking about power, the 2020 Apache 200 4v BS6 comes fitted with a 197.75cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled, fuel-injected engine which produces 20.5 PS of maximum power at 8,500 RPM and 16.8 Nm of peak torque at 7,500 RPM, mated to a 5-speed gearbox. Compared to the fuel-injected BS4 bike, power and torque figures have dropped by just 0.5 PS and 1.8 Nm. Some of the other features include the recently launched SmartXonnect display, Dual-Channel ABS with RLP (Rear wheel Lift-off Protection) control and a Slipper Clutch. For the 2020 Apache RTR 200 4V, TVS claims a top speed of 127 km/h and a 0-60 acceleration of 3.9 seconds.
The front fascia of the 2020 model features a full LED headlight instead of the halogen unit on the BS-IV version. The rearview mirrors got a revision as well, and TVS claims that the new units are aerodynamically superior to the previous vehicle. 2020 200 4V also benefits from a new Glide Through Traffic (GTT) feature which keeps the vehicle moving at a particular speed (low speed), irrespective of the incline on the road, without any throttle input. All the rider has to do is leave the clutch lever. The updated Apache also gets a rear radial tyre, revised graphics and is available in 2 colours: Gloss Black and Pearl White.
We are all in the midst of unprecedented times as we navigate the rapidly-evolving situation of COVID-19. Manufacturers are trying hard to let their customers know that the brand is standing right by their side during this rather tough phase. Attractive financial schemes are being announced and to cater to the social distancing norms, new service methods are being deployed. TVS Motor Company is a customer-centric company, and they believe that it is their priority to minimise inconvenience to their valued customers during these challenging times.
TVS Motor Company has announced a service programme for its esteemed customers titled ‘Expert on Wheels’. The programme will be available in over 300 dealerships across the country and help customers avail their service as per schedule. To ensure customer safety at the dealerships, the company has directed the dealers to follow thorough sanitisation protocol and mandatory PPE suit for the staff. The dealers are also utilising thermal scanning and enabling digital payments to ensure minimum contact.
