India’s largest car manufacturer, Maruti Suzuki has launched the CNG version of their sub-4-meter compact SUV, the Brezza. This is the only compact SUV in its segment with CNG variants as of now. Due to the new emission norms, Maruti Suzuki has ditched diesel engines. And they took a new leap of introducing CNG variants of all the models in their portfolio. Features in Brezza CNG
The updated version of Brezza will be versatile for numerous buyers. Those who are willing to opt for a feature-loaded CNG SUV with higher ground clearance can accomplish their desire. This is the first feature-loaded CNG compact SUV in its segment. The features like a Flat-bottom steering wheel, paddle shifters, wireless charger, Auto AC, Sunroof, cruise control, instrument cluster, and 9-inch floating type Infotainment system with the latest connectivity features like Apple Carplay, Android Auto, etc. will be offered even in CNG variants too. Powertrain updates to Brezza CNG
In order to meet the upcoming emission standards, Maruti Suzuki has tweaked the powertrain. Under the hood will be the updated 1.5L 4-cylinder K-Series Naturally Aspirated Petrol engine churns out 102hp and 137nm. However, in CNG mode, this engine will make 91hp and 122nm of output. Maruti Suzuki has claimed that the new Brezza CNG offers an exceptional fuel efficiency of 25.51km/kg. However, the CNG version of Brezza is only available with the 5-Speed Manual Transmission. With a variety of options to choose from, the updated Brezza is a delightful choice among the audience.
Variants and Price
The recently launched S-CNG Brezza ranges from INR 9.14 Lakhs and goes up to INR 12.05 Lakhs Ex-showroom. The CNG version of Brezza is available in 3 variants: – LXi, VXi, and ZXi. The base LXi has priced at INR 9.14 Lakhs, the VXi at INR 10.50 Lakhs, and the range-topping ZXi at INR 11.90 Lakhs. Opting for the dual-tone color option with the ZXi CNG trim incurs an additional premium of INR 15,000/-. As of now, this is the only CNG compact SUV available in its segment.

And CNG sales for hot-selling models such as the Ertiga and WagonR account for as high as 57% and 41% of total model sales, respectively. Moreover, with the Government’s initiatives aimed at the proliferation of CNG pumps across the nation, these numbers are likely to see a surge in the coming years.”
