BMW Introduces the striking new M2 Competition with Manual Gearbox in India

BMW has launched the new generation M2 Competition in India. This is the first-ever BMW in India to offer a 6-speed manual transmission.

The New BMW M2 Competition: The Design and Aesthetics

On the design front, the new BMW M2 Competition boasts a funky and sporty silhouette. Upfront, the car gets a traditional kidney grille, adaptive LED headlights, a bumper with intakes, and a sculpted bonnet.

Meanwhile, the side profile gets accentuated by the flared side skirts and standard 19-inch or 20-inch alloys. However, customers can even opt for M-Jet alloys as well. The rear profile comprises the signature quad-exhaust system, chunky rear bumper, and stylish LED taillights.

However, the M2 Competition gets uncompromised versatility with 40:20:40 split rear seats for larger boot space.

The New BMW M2 Competition: Powertrain

BMW has plonked in a 3.0L inline-6 cylinder petrol engine under the hood, which is shared in M3 and M4 as well. This twin-turbo engine produces 453hp of power and 550nm of peak torque between 2650-5870rpm. The carmaker has increased the power output to 50hp, but the torque output is identical to its predecessor generation model.

The BMW offers an 8-speed torque converter M-Steptronic Automatic Transmission as standard. However, the main highlight of the car is the 6-Speed Manual Gearbox, which makes it a boon for enthusiasts. Apart from the transmission, the M-Sport differential ensures optimum power delivery to the rear wheels. Moreover, it also gets M-Spec adaptive suspension, M-Spec high-performance brakes, and a top speed extension of up to 258km/h.
