So, along with the 7 Series facelift, BMW India has also launched the electric version of the flagship sedan, the i7 facelift. The updated BMW i7 is now available in India in two versions, with prices starting at Rs 1.95 crore (ex-showroom).
The range includes the i7 eDrive50 xDrive and the more powerful i7 M70 xDrive. The first version is locally assembled at BMW’s Chennai plant, while the M70 comes to India as a fully imported model.
BMW has also improved the battery and electric powertrain. The eDrive50 now offers a claimed 728km WLTP range, which is 125km more than before.
BMW i7 Price and Variants
There are two versions of the updated electric sedan in India.

More Range From the i7
The eDrive50 uses a 112.5kWh battery pack. It produces 455hp and 660Nm and can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 5.5 seconds. The claimed top speed is 210kmph. The M70 uses a more powerful electric setup. It produces 680hp, while torque reaches 1,015Nm in Sport mode and 1,100Nm with Sport Boost or Launch Control.
Its performance figures are:
- 0-100kmph: 3.8 seconds
- Top speed: 250kmph
- Battery: 112.5kWh
- Claimed range: 686km
The M70 has less range than the eDrive50, but its much stronger power output gives it a very different character.
Charging Details
BMW has also worked on the charging side of the i7. Both versions support up to 250kW DC charging. BMW claims a 10 to 80 percent charge takes around 28 minutes using a suitable DC charger. A quick 10-minute charging stop can add up to 235km of claimed range.
For home charging, the car supports a 22kW AC charger.

BMW will also provide a wallbox charger with installation.
A New Look Outside
The i7 facelift does not get a completely different body, but BMW has made several changes to the front and rear.
The kidney grille now has a more squared shape and gets illuminated surrounds. The LED headlamps have also been revised, while the front bumper gets a new design.

The i7 M70 gets larger 21-inch wheels and additional M badges. It also has a sportier front bumper and darker grille treatment.
Cabin Gets New BMW Tech
The cabin gets more changes than the exterior. BMW has added its latest display and operating system technology to the facelifted i7. The dashboard now gets BMW Panoramic Vision, which projects information across the lower section of the windscreen.
The main display measures 17.9 inches, while the front passenger gets a separate 14.6-inch screen. Some of the main cabin features include:

Safety and Driver Assistance
The i7 also gets a long list of driver assistance systems.
The equipment includes cruise control, Parking Assistant Professional, Remote Parking and Reversing Assistant Professional. The i7 also gets Driving Assistant Plus, which adds features such as active cruise control with Stop&Go and steering and lane control assistance.
Local Assembly in India
The updated BMW i7 eDrive50 is now locally produced at BMW’s Chennai facility. BMW says India is only the second country after Germany where the i7 is produced locally.
The M70 xDrive is imported as a completely built-up unit.
