Online shopping makes life easy, where a few clicks is all you need to get what you want. However, if you are about to purchase any electronic goods online, make sure you read the fine print. Certain electronic goods manufacturers do not honor warranty, if the goods have been purchased online. The tussle between electronic brands and e-commerce does not seem to end any time soon either. Realizing the need to address this issue; Blaupunkt India has revoked the warranty on products sold online via predatory discounts and offers.
Blaupunkt backs their products which have been installed professionally, however, this installation is currently unavailable on online sales compelling the company to revoke warranty on the same.
The brand does not want to rule out online sales and would thus be launching a new range of products especially designed for the online channel. This range would be featuring a ‘Do it Yourself’ installation for the products. The current product range which needs professional installation will therefore not be covered under warranty if purchased online.
Commenting on the same, Mr. Pankaj Jagwani, Director, Blaupunkt India said, “The e-commerce space is a growing market, however we do not believe in hampering the customer experience just because the products are purchased online. We would thus be launching a range exclusive to the online channel, promising nothing less than the unmatchable Blaupunkt experience.”
