Bajaj Pulsar N125 Launched: Xtreme, Raider Rival

Bajaj Auto has officially launched its latest offering in the Pulsar series, the Pulsar N125. This new model is targeted at younger, urban riders and comes with a modern design and a host of features that emphasize city riding. It joins Bajaj’s successful Pulsar lineup, which has been a mainstay in India’s sports motorcycling segment since its inception in 2001.

Key Features and Performance

The Pulsar N125 is powered by a 125cc engine, delivering 12 PS of power at 8500 rpm and 11 Nm of torque at 6000 rpm. According to Bajaj, the N125 boasts the best power-to-weight ratio in its segment, making it the fastest motorcycle in the 125cc category from 0 to 60 km/h. The inclusion of a counter balancer helps reduce engine vibrations, improving ride refinement. This model also introduces an Integrated Starter Generator (ISG), ensuring silent and reliable starts.

The bike’s lightweight structure, tipping the scales at 125 kg, and low seat height of 795 mm make it an ideal fit for everyday commuting in congested urban environments. Bajaj has emphasized agility, with a compact design and sharp turning radius, making it easier for riders to navigate through city traffic.

Pulsar N125 Design and Technology

Styling-wise, the Pulsar N125 features a Naked Streetfighter design, which Bajaj describes as youthful and aggressive. The bike comes with a sculpted fuel tank for enhanced thigh support and floating aerodynamic panels to improve airflow. The colour options are clearly geared towards a younger audience, with bold, contrasting tones and trendy decals that add to its modern appeal.

The bike comes equipped with a fully digital LCD speedometer that includes Bluetooth connectivity. This feature allows riders to receive call alerts, message notifications, and access fuel economy information. Practical additions like a USB charging port and monoshock rear suspension are designed for daily use. Safety is enhanced with LED headlights, offering better visibility at night, and front disc brakes for more responsive braking.

Price and Variants

The Pulsar N125 is available in two variants: the LED Disc BT variant, which features Bluetooth connectivity, and the standard LED Disc variant. The ex-showroom price starts at ₹94,707 in Delhi, positioning it competitively in the 125cc segment. Colour choices include vibrant shades like Ebony Black + Purple Fury, Pearl Metallic White, and Caribbean Blue, among others.

Bajaj’s Strategic Move in the 125cc Segment

Bajaj’s entry into the 125cc segment with the N125 reflects the company’s continued focus on capturing the interest of young, urban riders. With the success of the Pulsar 125 and Pulsar NS125, the N125 seems to build on Bajaj’s strategy of offering sports-oriented motorcycles to a demanding audience.

Will the Pulsar N125 Succeed in India?

While the Pulsar brand has historically performed well in India’s sports bike segment, the 125cc category is highly competitive. Rivals such as the TVS Raider and Hero Xtreme are already well-established in the market. However, Bajaj’s emphasis on performance, design, and technology in the N125 could help it stand out, particularly among younger riders seeking a balance between practicality and style.
