Bajaj Discover 100T Launched @ INR 50500

After plenty of speculations and days of waiting, Bajaj Auto Ltd finally revealed its all new 100cc bike today. Christened as the new Bajaj Discover 100T, the new bike from Bajaj will be positioned as an entry level bike that will battle it out against the likes of Honda CB-Twister.

It may be noted that in spite of repeated attempts, Bajaj has failed to get the better of Japanese rivals in the entry level commuter segment of Indian bike market and it remains to be seen if all this is set to be changed with the arrival of the new Bajaj Discover 100T entry level commuter bike.

The Bajaj Discover 100T, which can be safely termed as the new generation of Bajaj Discover 100, is powered by a 100cc single cylinder DTSi engine that features a 4 valve head and pumps out a good 10.2 ps of power and 9.2 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 5 speed gearbox and the company claims a mileage of 87 kmpl along with a top whack of 100 kmph. This makes the new Disco the fastest bike in 100cc segment.

The engine of the new Bajaj Discover 100T is derived from that of the Bajaj Pulsar 135LS.

The bike is loaded with Nitrox rear shock absorbers, DC headlamp, auto choke, electric starter and comes with a good paint quality.

Launching the new bike, K Srinivas, President of Motorcycle business at Bajaj Auto said, “The steady growth of the more expensive 100 cc bikes at the cost of the cheaper models is a clear evidence of this. The Discover 100T delivers power of 125 cc motorcycle and mileage of a 100 cc.”

The bike has a styling package that is reminiscent of the Discover 125ST and is surely among the better looking 100cc bikes.

The new Discover 100T will go on sale for INR 50,500 (ex-showroom Delhi)
