Bajaj Auto has introduced new pricing for their Chetak electric scooter, making it available at just Rs. 1.30 Lakhs Ex-showroom. It’s important to note that this special pricing is applicable for a limited time.
Presently, Chetak stands as Bajaj’s only offering in the market, showcasing the company’s commitment to electric mobility.
About Bajaj Chetak Electric
The Bajaj Chetak is an electric scooter crafted by a renowned Indian 2-wheeler manufacturer. This scooter showcases a captivating and timeless design enriched with classic elements that highlight its design. Meanwhile, the scooter’s aesthetics are highlighted by a circular LED headlight, body-coloured triangular mirrors, vertical turning indicators, and stylish alloy wheels.
Moving along the scooter’s side, you’ll notice an elegantly curved panel and a two-tone seat. In the realm of features, the Chetak Electric boasts a circular LCD digital instrument cluster, complemented by black grab rail and footrest casings. Additionally, the scooter boasts black inserts on the headlight, indicators, and central trim element, adding to its distinctive and eye-catching design.

Powertrain Specifications
In this latest update, the electric scooter’s powertrain remains unchanged, maintaining its reliable performance. It retains the 2.88kWh battery pack coupled with a 3-phase electric motor that produces 5.3hp and 20nm of torque.
Meanwhile, the power is sent to the rear wheel through a single-speed constant mesh gearbox. Thanks to this well-balanced setup, the scooter boasts an impressive claimed range of up to 90km, adhering to the AIS 040 standard.
Pricing and Rivals
Embracing the festive spirit, Bajaj Auto has set the Ex-showroom price of the Chetak electric scooter at an inviting Rs. 1.30 Lakhs. However, it is important to note that the pricing is subject to change in the coming months, reflecting the dynamic market landscape. It locks its horns with rivals like the TVS iQube, Ather 450X, and OLA S1 Pro, intensifying the competition among electric two-wheelers.
Will the Price Drop increase its sales?
In 2020, Bajaj launched the Chetak with a price tag of Rs. 1-1.15 Lakhs Ex-showroom. However, sales were affected by numerous downsides. Unlike its competitors, the Chetak electric scooter lacks key features like a multi-colour digital display and digital document storage.
Furthermore, its limited riding range and short service network affected its sales numbers. Chetak’s higher pricing compared to its rivals, who offered a more appealing package, also played a role.
But there’s good news now. The automaker has slashed the prices of the electric scooter, boosting its sales potential. The Chetak has its strengths too, including a powerful electric motor, enjoyable ride quality, and well-balanced handling. It’s also built with a sturdy metallic body and wider tires equipped with disc brakes, enhancing both its reliability and performance.
