Aprilia showcased the new Storm 125 scooter at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, the two-wheeler manufacturer remained tight-lipped about the launch details of the motorcycle. In latest updates, motoring portal Autocar India reports that the new scooter will arrive in the Indian market by the end of 2018. Currently, the Company aims to expand its dealer network to more than double in the next 12-18 months.
So what’s new on the Storm 125? The scooter is based on Aprilia’s SR125. Visually, the scooter features a new matt red colour scheme with spunky black graphics all around. But the most noticeable feature are the tyres. These are smaller 12-inch alloys that are shod with wide high profile terrain tyres. Aprilia had previously confirmed that it will only be available in vibrant shades and would be offered with a dedicated line of accessories for those who want their rides to stand out.
Mechanically, Aprilia has chosen to not tinker with the engine of the standard Aprilia SR125 and the Storm will retain the 125cc, single cylinder motor which is tuned to deliver 9.5 HP of peak power.

As aforementioned, the scooter is expected to reach the Indian market by the end of 2018. We’ll probably hear more details in the second half of the year, as the scooter approaches its launch date.
