We recently reported in detail when it emerged that the upcoming Maruti Suzuki Alto 800 might offer Drivers Side Airbag as an option. Now, clear spy images of the interiors of the upcoming car have surfaced on to the web world.
Looking at the images, first impressions are that the upcoming car will have good quality plastics and stylish design for the interiors. The car will offer beige interiors with silver garnishing and the Alto 800 gets its aircon vents, steering wheel and gear knob from the Maruti parts bin. The dashboard is seen having some storage space above the glove box and the electric windows switches have been moved to the centre console.
The car borrows the front seats from the AStar/Alto K10 and are seen draped in stylish fabric upholstery. The car gets fabric inserts on the front door pad. The door pads provide dedicated slots for mounting audio speakers and also have a large map pocket.
The car feels roomier than the current Alto and should give the Hyundai Eon a run for its money. Not much is known about the technical specifications of this car but the new Alto 800 should be powered by a reworked F8D motor that does duty on the Alto F8. Also, we wish that Maruti downsizes the K10 to 800cc and employs it in this car. But then, we know not if MSIL has thought about it. Overall, the Alto 800 is definitely seems to be a generation ahead of the Alto and will come with INR 2.5 Lakh price tag.
