A few days back we got the very first look at the upcoming Toyota Innova Hycross facelift through fresh spy images. Now the MPV has been spotted once again and this time the latest test mule gives us a much better look at the cabin. Even though the body is still covered in camouflage, the new images reveal that Toyota is preparing several feature upgrades along with a few styling changes.
The Innova Hycross is already one of Toyota’s most popular models in India. With rivals bringing newer products, Toyota appears to be working on making the MPV feel more modern without changing its core formula.
Bigger touchscreen grabs attention first
The biggest update inside the cabin is the new infotainment system. The display looks much larger than the current unit and could measure around 12 inches.
Other expected cabin updates include:
- Larger touchscreen with updated software
- Bigger digital instrument cluster with fresh graphics
- Same steering wheel and centre console design
- Dual tone dashboard expected to continue
- Better quality materials and improved fit and finish
- Improved cabin insulation for lower noise levels
Toyota may also add more connected features and improve the user interface for easier operation.
More premium features could be added
The current Innova Hycross already comes with a long list of premium features. The facelift could expand that list further, especially in the higher variants.
Expected feature additions include:
- Powered front passenger seat
- Ventilated second row seats
- Improved 360 degree camera
- Dolby Atmos sound system
- Illuminated window switches
- Illuminated door lock controls
The panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, powered Ottoman seats, power tailgate, multi zone climate control and rear sunshades are likely to continue.
Exterior updates expected
Most visual changes are expected at the front. The latest spy images suggest Toyota is working on a fresh bumper design along with changes to the front lighting setup.
| Area | Expected update |
|---|---|
| Headlamps | New projector units |
| Front grille | Revised design |
| Front bumper | Sharper styling |
| Alloy wheels | Same design likely |
| Tail lamps | New LED brake light pattern |
| Turn indicators | Standard bulb setup expected |
The side profile looks very familiar with the same overall shape, wheel arches and window design seen on the current model.
At the rear, the tail lamp housing appears similar, but the brake lights could get a new full LED lighting pattern for a fresher look.
Engine options likely to continue
Toyota is not expected to make major mechanical changes. The facelift is likely to offer:
- 2.0 litre petrol engine
- 173 hp
- 204 Nm
- CVT gearbox
- 2.0 litre strong hybrid petrol
- Combined output of 183.7 hp
- e CVT transmission
There are also reports that Toyota could introduce a Flex Fuel version with the updated model.
