Kawasaki seems to be moving quickly with its 2027 motorcycle updates. After recently introducing models such as the 2027 Versys 1100, Ninja 500, Versys 650, Ninja 300, etc., the company has now updated the Vulcan S for the new model year. The cruiser gets a few small changes, with the price going up by Rs 10,000.
The 2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S is now priced at Rs 8.23 lakh (ex-showroom). Deliveries are expected to start from mid-September 2026. There is a new paint option, a small increase in torque and revised brake disc sizes.
Engine And Performance
The Vulcan S continues with its 649cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. Kawasaki has brought back the torque figure that was available on the older model.

The engine now makes 62.4Nm, compared with 61Nm on the 2026 version. Power stays at 61hp. The extra torque also brings the figure back to the level seen on the 2024 Vulcan S.
There is no change to the six-speed gearbox or the engine’s power and torque delivery range.
Brakes And Suspension
One of the less expected changes is seen in the braking hardware. Kawasaki has reduced the size of both disc rotors.

The Vulcan S continues with a 41mm telescopic front fork and a linkage-type monoshock at the rear. Its 705mm seat height is also carried over, along with 130mm of ground clearance. The motorcycle weighs 235kg in kerb form.
Colour And Features
Kawasaki has given the 2027 Vulcan S a new Metallic Carbon Gray paint scheme. It gets subtle bluish-green highlights and replaces the Metallic Flat Spark Black colour offered on the previous model.
The equipment list is familiar, with an analogue-digital instrument cluster and dual-channel ABS. It does not get a TFT display, Bluetooth connectivity, riding modes or traction control.
Price And Competition
The new Vulcan S costs Rs 8.23 lakh, which is Rs 10,000 more than the 2026 motorcycle. Kawasaki has kept the model in a segment where it does not have a direct rival in India.
The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 can be considered its closest alternative, although its price of Rs 4.05 lakh makes it much cheaper.
