2024 Kawasaki Z650RS Launched at Rs 6.99 Lakh

Kawasaki has launched its updated version of the middleweight neo-retro motorcycle, the Kawasaki Z650RS which is now priced at Rs 6.99 lakh

Traction Control Upgrade

One significant improvement is the addition of a two-level traction control system as a standard feature, similar to its sibling, the Ninja 650.

This enhancement elevates the Z650RS’s performance, providing riders with enhanced control and safety on the road.

Mechanical Prowess

Under the hood, the Z650RS boasts the same robust 649cc, parallel-twin mill from the Z650. This powerhouse generates an impressive 68hp and 64Nm torque, ensuring a thrilling ride for motorcycle enthusiasts.

Stylish Design Inspired by Z900RS

The Z650RS maintains its modern-classic design, drawing inspiration from the larger Z900RS. With a shortened, flat tail section and alluring spoke-wheel like alloys, the bike exudes a distinctive neo-retro charm.

The all-LED lighting, featuring a round headlamp and a horizontally swept tail lamp, adds to its aesthetic appeal.

Chassis and Suspension

The motorcycle’s engine is housed within a trellis main frame, borrowed from the Z650, while the subframe has undergone rework for added stability.

Suspension duties are expertly handled by a telescopic fork and a monoshock, offering a smooth and controlled ride. The braking system features dual 286mm discs at the front and a single 172mm disc at the rear, ensuring reliable stopping power.

Rider-Centric Features

The Z650RS caters to the rider’s comfort with an accessible 800mm seat height. However, it’s essential to note that this comes at the expense of ground clearance, with a challenging 125mm available.

The twin-pod instrumentation, with an integrated LCD screen, provides riders with vital information, complemented by the two levels of traction control for varied riding conditions.

Competition and Pricing

In the market, the Kawasaki Z650RS faces stiff competition from the Triumph Trident 660, priced at Rs 8.12 lakh. While the Trident 660 comes with a higher price tag, it boasts an extra cylinder and several other improvements.

Our Take

The updated Kawasaki Z650RS is a testament to the brand’s commitment to innovation and performance. With its distinctive design, advanced features, and competitive pricing, it stands out as a top choice for riders seeking a neo-retro marvel on the streets.
