Hyundai, one of the leading car manufacturers, has officially unveiled the design of their new generation Sonata. The 2024 Hyundai Sonata is set to be released in international markets only. The new Sonata has undergone a comprehensive update both inside and out. It bears a striking resemblance to its elder sibling, the Grandeur, as well as the new Verna.
Exterior Design
The design language of Sonata looks sophisticated from certain angles. Upfront, the 2024 Sonata boasts LED DRLs that run across the width of the car, as well as distinct character lines on the hood. The bumper houses LED horizon headlights, a wide grille, and a large air dam. All these elements contribute to enhancing the aerodynamic profile of the sedan.
From the side, the Sonata retains its signature coupe styling, with sleek lines that emphasize the car’s sporty nature. The striking alloy wheels further enhance its sporty styling. Moving to the rear, the new Sonata features high-tech H-shaped LED taillights that run across the width of the car. The spoiler-shaped tailgate houses a black panel with jewel elements and the Sonata emblem, adding a touch of elegance to the rear profile.
However, the Sonata N-line boasts an array of sporty elements that set it apart from the standard model. These include black mirrors, tweaked bumpers, and 19-inch alloy wheels, as well as distinctive N-Line monikers and a quad-exhaust setup. Thanks to these sporty elements, the Sonata N-Line is sure to turn heads and stand out from the crowd.
Interior of upcoming 2024 Sonata
The latest iteration of the Hyundai Sonata boasts a stunning dual-tone interior that combines elegance and sophistication. The combination of beige and black hues creates a luxurious and upmarket feel. The interior layout is designed with a focus on the driver. The dashboard console is equipped with a dual display, with each display measuring 12.3 inches in size. This advanced setup features a fully digital instrument cluster and an intuitive infotainment system. Additional comfort features include touch-based AC controls, stalks inspired by the Ioniq5, and a convenient armrest.
Powertrain Details
Hyundai is yet to release the mechanical details of their upcoming Sonata. However, the outgoing model had a variety of powertrains, including the PHEV version. The N-Line model was equipped with a powerful 2.5L T-GDi engine that produced 290hp and 422nm of output. This engine was paired with an 8-Speed DCT transmission. We can expect that the new generation Sonata will retain these powertrains.
About the unveiling of the new Sonata
Hyundai is gearing up to unveil the 8th generation Sonata, complete with a fresh new design and an array of new features. The highly-anticipated 2024 Sonata will be officially revealed at the upcoming Seoul Mobility Show, which is set to commence on March 30th.
